  • Thano’s character in this movie made me refall in love with the mcu (I’m a die hard dc comic fan not the movies fuck anything after the dark knight trilogy besides the first Wonder Woman.) but after the second Thor movie I super fell off and stopped caring about the films then years later after endgame came out I ran through all the mcu movies just to have something to binge and to have a conclusion as satisfying as infinity war and end game it almost makes you love even the shitty movies leading up to that greatness. (Wandavision was also pretty amazing, The falcon and the winter solider is kinda hit or miss for me I really only watch it for the action.

  • What about Zemo? In Civil War they also lost Hard against Zemo. Infinity War and Civil War was where the Bad Guy Wins.

    Bruce DoyleBruce Doyle6 ngày trước
    • How exactly did they lose? Nobody of the Avengers died. Zemo's plan was to have the Avengers kill each other and they didn't kill each other.

  • I know it's been ages since this but I remember the bizarre juxtaposition between the peacefulness of the final shot of Thanos and my own emotional turmoil from watching half of the beloved cast disappear. My whole theater just sat in silence for several minutes as the credits rolled. I do love me some sad endings but this was truly devastating (and considering I watched it three times in theaters I loved every second of my devastation).

  • The Farm scene was arguably the most cinematic scene out of the whole MCU alongside Tony having to watch his parents get killed in Civil War. Just the sheer build up to that moment. The loss from our characters to a villian a decade in the making. And the best part is Thanos is not just a generic villian. The audience is frustrated but at the same time somehow satisfied he made good on his promise. This is because they gave Thanos depth. His mission is built on some form of logic that many villains lack. We feel for him when he kills Gamora. The end is somber. He doesn't take any pride in what he just did. He had a goal and he accomplished it. Thats it. End of story. No wide shot with dramatic music. No evil villian laughter. Just a long sigh. This movie is definitely a Thanos tribute.

  • Can't believe i finally found someone who thought about this scene amexactly as i did. I honestly don't even know how many times i've played Thanos's porch theme. It's so good, so strong. And Thanos just sitting there finally relaxing and thinking "i did it". Thanos is the best MCU character out of them all. I am thank the Russo brothers enough for making this happen. And also making him so good.

  • Thanos with the look of pure satisfaction knowing that he's fulfilled his destiny and his vision has come to fruition makes the Farm so special. And the credits ending with "Thanos will return" only solidifies how badass and important he is as a character just after one film. Not to mention that amazing score to go along with it, in my opinion they really couldn't have put a cap on the first decade of the MCU any better than what they did.

  • Good reason for choosing that scene. If Thanos didn't look so satisfied, and was instead still showing some sorrow for Gamora, it would have been perfect. That Thanos could so easily move on, so soon after killing Gamora, conflicts with any claims that he really loved her. You don't get over the death of someone you love in just a day or two, *especially* if you're the one who killed them. The Soul stone was supposed to be acquired by a great sacrifice... if the sacrifice is something you can forget and move on so easily, _it wasn't much of a sacrifice to begin with._ Sure, he could have looked relieved, his ordeal finally complete. But even just 5 seconds, something like pained whisper "I did it Gamora. We did it... I'm so sorry." Then face the first light of a sunrise with a hopeful look. But to show not a single sign of loss made me have complete contempt for him, and for the cosmos that gave him the soul stone so cheaply. That's not the face of a father who lost a child.

My dad on the other hand thought “well that was a stupid ending” of course I told him to calm down, there’s going to be a second part for sure to truly end this. But it was indeed refreshing

  • The farm scene really hit me because I spent years just hoping they would do Thanos RIGHT. And to do him right you had to do 2 things: 1. He must be powerful enough to overpower our heroes, even together, BEFORE he has all the stones and 2. The heroes even working together must NOT be enough to stop him, once he has all the stones AND THEN THEY GAVE ME A BONUS 3. Thanos was made a relatable, fully rounded character in the film - something he never was, in Infinity Gauntlet comic, and something they didn't HAVE to do, but man it made it better. So when The Farm scene came around I was just hoping they would stick the landing, don't give people hope, don't hint that it's gonna be ok *_Black screen and credits_* and literally all around was silence during the credits people in shock - and it was all I could do to not clap SO HARD AND YELL "THANOS!!!" because they did it right. The story of Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War is a coming of age sort of thing where the comic audience(and now the MCU audience) had to learn that sometimes the good guys lose, even when it REALLY MATTERS. The lesson that there is a reason for them fighting the bad guys, because the bad guys COULD ACTUALLY WIN and could actually cause EPIC CATASTROPHES. Then I spent a year saying ok so you know its gonna be time travel to undo it, and thats cool, the good guys need to win in the end, but it sucks to wipe it all out and erase the significance of the event. *_Five Years Later_* Stunned silence in the theater and again I am just fighting the urge to stand up and clap. Our heroes were going to save the day, but the universe would forever be impacted. The Universe would remember this event. Plots going forward will change permanently. This would remain and earth shattering event in the universe, PERMANENTLY. Marvel went the hard route, and cemented their IP as something even more special than a movie universe, but one of real depth of story and history.

  • I loved every part of endgame apart from the endgame (pun intended). I’m no writer and I don’t claim to be but I think they could have done better. The portal scene while great I do think captain America should have reacted a little more to all these people coming back but my main problem is the fight. While it was cool admittedly and it was the only way to accommodate so many people coming through the portals but think about it, why were the fights in infinity war so great? Because they were small teams using their individual strengths to fight a small group of powerful enemys (can’t remember the names I think they are called the children of thanos). In endgame we have them fighting through nameless hordes. Think of how much better it would be if we had thanos, ronan (if the timeline allows it I can’t remember when endgame thanos comes from) and and some new children of thanos that died at some point before infinity war. Neither side should have armies.

  • Something I like in the soundtrack: In the farm scene, when we cut to Thanos, Alan Silvestri wants the music to sound stark and haunted - and so he clearly makes a conscious decision to only use strings. Listen again: No percussion, nothing else, just strings. Also, right as Thanos smiles... ...the movie ends... ...on a major chord. A happy chord. The perfect way to end the film from Thanos's point of view.
