  • Personally, I thought that they weren't trying to be funny. I think that the jokes they used were what jokes looked like at that time. IT Crowd was a fantastic show and I remember laughing and enjoying that show so much but now when i looked back at a few episodes, it was... ok. The comedy on the outside world was pre good tho

You also said the show doesn't give us time to speculate and tells us everything. I watched 6 reaction channels of this show and it was 100% speculation and not knowing wtf was going on. You also used Agatha All Along as your evidence we found that out in episode 7 of a 9 episode show. So you were not speculating about Agatha for the first 6 episodes? Idk about this one man

  • I don't think it was trying to be funny. I think it was supposed to be a bit campy at times and the humor is supposed to feel a bit forced to enforce the fact that Wanda is forcing these people to try to be funny and laugh at each other's bad jokes.

  • I really really loved this show. I teeter between an 8 and a 9 out of 10 with it for me. It’s highs are so fucking high for me. It genuinely did make me cry and I guess that’s because it just hit me in the right moment in the right place. I love Wanda and Vision’s story and I think it does the characters justice. One thing I’ll disagree with you on is that you said the characters aren’t interesting in the other movies. I genuinely loved seeing Vision just have a chat with the final Ultron bot in Age of Ultron. I loved seeing Vision wear a sweater in Civil War trying to explain the consequences of the Avengers existence. I will agree that it is over shadowed by Thanos throwing a moon at Iron Man but I genuinely enjoyed the characters before this show. Maybe thats why I liked it a bit more than you

  • This absolutely didn't need two villains and more time should be spent on characters and this weirdness of this world. Especially because Wanda is the villain of the story and need to own up to that. I loved the world and enjoyed learning more about the characters. But more could have done with a crazy world.

  • It feels like the writing in this show was almost split in to two pieces, like one side of the show was attempting to do something really original and interesting compared to most pieces of MCU content, but the other side of it was the boring scenes with overly sarcastic dialogue and characters that would explain everything to the audience.

  • I’m glad I didn’t imagine that Hayward’s motivations made no sense. Why does every action story need some guy who bizarrely wants to “weaponize” a sentient thing that’s nigh impossible to control? I’m saying this because I had the same problem with Vincent D’Onofrio wanting to weaponize raptors in Jurassic World. It’s such an obviously bad, ridiculous idea.

    Doda GarciaDoda Garcia17 ngày trước
    • In Hayward’s case it’s even worse because it’s well established that the Mind Stone is what made Vision alive - otherwise we wouldn’t be considering him dead. So what’s the point of trying to weaponize a lifeless, Paul Bettany-shaped husk? I suppose we’re just expected to ignore that because they did succeed in making that White Vision thing and it seemed to have powers pretty identical to Vision’s, but then if they could create those powers why bother with Vision’s body? Make a Vision with twenty limbs or something, the hard part is the sentience and that seemed to be the easy part for them somehow.

  • I didn't really like how they made Agatha a villain when she really isn't one in the comics but she is somewhat of a teacher to Wanda. She legit had no motivation to try and take Wanda's power in this show, it was just "Give me your power it's strong!" and thats it

  • I mean the comedy wasnt great, but its really in context. The comedy isnt executed well because Wanda is a war refugee. And if you took the time to learn about people during times of war, you would learn that watching shitty tv shows is sometimes the only comfort you have in life. As a war refugee myself, this really hit the nail on the head

    GaiGai19 ngày trước
  • I didn't think the jokes were supposed to be funny, they were just part of "the set" of Wanda's show.

    Matt WeinerMatt Weiner19 ngày trước
  • Remove the "Real world" characters and plot, DON'T reveal the fucking main twist of the show in the 4th episode and have it all explained by the end of it and remove Agatha and I think I'd have enjoyed this show waaaay more, but I think Marvel is way too afraid to take bigger risks that they forced those things to make it as MCU-ish as possible. My pitch for this show would be having all the show set in the "TV world" and slowly revealing the twists as the episodes go on, you know... Just like they were doing on the first 3 episodes.... At least I commend them for making Wanda the villain, but their way to show that she was actually good was kinda lame and morally wrong.... Wanda is not like Agatha cause Wanda didn't mean to hurt those people? First of all, Agatha killed those witches in self-defense, and Vision was telling Wanda how her actions were affecting others and she just ignored it, so it felt kinda wrong that they sort of tried to downplay her actions when she was 100% in the wrong here, I guess Marvel is too scared to present one of their heroes as a villian to their audiences that they have to throw that morally weird stuff to them, "Hey if you were on that situation, you would do the same, right?? Hahaaa"

  • My 11 year old thought the comedy was really funny (although he has never seen a sit com). Personally i never found sit coms funny, which i guess is why i don't waste my kids life by making them sit through sitcoms. So, i dont like sitcoms (ok bewitched was fun when i was a kid) but i do like what marvel did with this show.

  • The sitcoms weren't meant to be funny... Just show how those tropes are so familiar. That's why they were too laboured and they committed so much to the bit it felt too much. Two full episodes in stilted 50s setting was too much... We get it already! Almost made me turn off. Just take each episode to progress through the timeline of sitcom styles would've given it more focus IMO.

I didn’t feel like the show was necessarily trying to be funny, more so, trying to emulate the humor from the shows it was portraying. Also, Darcy, Jimmy, and Monica was more like the grounding factor in the show. Not saying it was perfect. But I feel everything had it’s place.

  • I think that you’re judging Falcon and The Winter Soldier too soon. It definitely has the chance to be better than this

    SicruettSicruett25 ngày trước
    • @Sicruett 1. just cause she was an established character doesn't mean they NEED to carry her on - but if they do (great, I love Emily Vancamp!) why shove her in so poorly? She just acted as plot armour and an action scene giver and then fucked off again? It's a total waste. 2. Unless it's a specific style you're trying to nail a la psychological thriller, serious drama etc the relationships shouldn't be dysfunctional and confusing - they don't get along yet they team up for the entire show against a common enemy? Just seems like their 'relationship' is a script device for funny dialogue along the lines of 'I hate you'. 3. Most MCU villains at the very least: - feel unlikable/evil - have clear motivations (even if those motivations are dumb as fuck) - not literally idiotic I too hope it improves, I just think that the first 6 episodes of WV (and defo the first 3) are far superior to this atm.

      TheoTheo13 ngày trước
    • @Theo 1) she was an established character in the previous Captain America movies so they needed to continue her story somehow after she was branded a traitor. So it makes sense that she’d end up somewhere like Madripoor. 2) Relationships are complicated. Some people just can’t get along. 3) Most villains in the MCU are pretty uninteresting however Karli wasn’t in episode 1 and she got more in these 2 episodes. I agree that so far she’s not good but the series is only 6 episodes so I think that in these next episodes she’ll get a full backstory.

      SicruettSicruett13 ngày trước
    • @Sicruett 1. Half way in and I still don't care abt the villains 2. Half way in and I still don't get bucky and falcon's relationship 3. Last episode was good because Daniel Bruhl is awesome, that's pretty much it 4. Emily Vancamp was shoved in because ??? and does nothing except fight a couple bad guys and then leave lmao

      TheoTheo13 ngày trước
    • @Theo we are literally half way in bruh. Last episode was great Idk what you’re talking about

      SicruettSicruett13 ngày trước
    • The writing is fucking awful on FATWS imo. The dialogue feels clunky and I don't really believe or understand why Falcon or Bucky don't like each other outside of 'he's annoying wah' also the flagsmashers are semi-based idiots who make no sense and we don't give a shit about

      TheoTheo13 ngày trước
  • Sometimes I wonder if you even hear what you are saying. “There’s no room for speculation because everything is explained by the Military guys, who are sometimes wrong.” um, you are pointing out that they are speculating right along with us. Also, her powers weren’t retconned perse, they’d just never been explained in any meaningful sense. And I love how you dismiss things as being troll moves that are clearly some of the best world building in the MCU leading into future works. Sometimes your opinions are just hilariously unfounded.

I think that we are going to get the explanation in Eternals or something so that when we say WandaVision and Evan Peters, we would’ve just been like “oh look! It’s the one from the X-Men movies!” And no fan theories would come out of it because we would have already known how mutants are coming in

  • Wait... this show made us LIKE WANDA... This show consists of Wanda enslaving a town and keeping them in a state of perpetual torture to make herself feel better, and then she gets away with it with no consequences. Although, not only does she get away with no consequences, the show tries to paint her as someone who made a sacrifice (of her imaginary family) to save people (that she had victimized). If anything this show made me hate Wanda.

It would've tied directly into the themes of the show , given the Xmen nerds some fanservice, and tie into Multiverse of Madness.

Moreover, if they were going to make Wanda the official Scarlet Witch, they needed a mentor for her. Agatha's already started that job, unintentionally.

Darcy’s quirkiness could have been a great tool for character development, she could be on a dire situation and start acting serious but instead we got “have fun in prison”. You could put a laught track on her and she would be a perfect fit on Big Bang Theory. Besides the performance of Paul Bettany the show doesn’t deserve the over the top praises like “phenomenal”, “masterpiece”, “10/10”. The show was decent, nothing more nothing less

  • I really enjoyed the show initially because it was different, I am only 30 and didn’t have nostalgia for the sitcoms other than the 80s and 90s ones, but I still appreciated and saw what they were doing. I really liked it but felt left down by the finale as it felt like a return to the usual thing. Either way the most disappointing thing for me is I went into it not caring, loved it, got excited for falcon and winter soldier, then got let down and now don’t feel any hurry or desire to watch falcon. It just disappoints me to remember the love for the show I had and how I was interested in what they will do next with other shows, and now iv done a 180 and don’t care again. Just a shame is what it is.

  • I enjoyed this show a lot especially the retro episodes where they are set in the 60s - 90s. It was really cool and I like stuff like that. Also the weird "glitches" throughout the show was creepy and made the show more interesting. Afterwards, when they were explaining how those glitches happened such as the radio and helicopter, it was really cool. There was some things that got me confused though like the Beeman that came out the sewers, what happened to that guy? Also Monica's powers. How did she get them? What is her power? Why does the colour of her eye change? The CGI was also good but I did not like the Agatha Twist. Also throughout the witch scenes, it felt like I was watching a movie that is not connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. All that witchcraft stuff did not feel like it belonged with the MCU until Agnes said that Wanda's powers are stronger than the Sorcerer Supreme. That's when I understood that it was part of the MCU. Overall really good and definitely recommend if you are an average viewer like me that likes to follow the MCU!
