  • The only "fighting" game I found enjoyment in was Xenoverse 2 (and I wasn't even good at the game). I would love to be able to play 2D fighters like DBFighterZ, SFV, and Injustice 2 and I've tried to get into them and improve but they just don't click like Xenoverse did for me

  • Ok noobs listen up Easy Mode - Step 1: Learn the"fire ball" ⬇↘➡,atk Once u can perfectly spam"fire balls" Step 2: Learn the "upper cut" (Same motion as "fire ball" x2) ⬇↘➡x2,atk Now that ur half way thru easy mode the rest shouldn't be so hard now, assuming u can perfectly execute the "fire balls" and "upper cuts"... The final lesson is do these movements backwards to unlock the rest of the moves ur character might have. Medium Mode - Learn the "swing" movement (Basically it's a backwards "fire ball" movement into a forward "fire ball" then atk) Example 👇 ⬇↙⬅⬇↘➡,atk Flip the "swing" movement to get different moves (Forward "fire ball" into backwards "fire ball") Example 👇 ⬇↘➡⬇↙⬅,atk "Hard Mode" Learn charge character basics - (Hold back or down for 3sec then move the opposite direction and atk) ⬅,➡+atk ⬇,⬆+atk PRO TIP - Hold ↙ if ur on the left side Hold ↘ if ur on the right side Examples 👇 ↙,➡or⬆+atk ↘,⬅or⬆+atk This technique ensures that u r always blocking while charging, Also it's important to note that depending on what side ur on, ur "charge" changes. Example 👇 Left side = ⬅,➡+atk Right side = ➡,⬅+atk Ok so now that u know the "charge" basics now its time to learn the "charge ultimate" "charge",➡⬅➡or⬅➡⬅,atk Depending on what side ur on. There's more complicated movements like the full circle motion and "rekas" i think is what it's called but this information should turn u into a novice player at least, i hope this was helpful and i hope u can see the arrow emojis or this comment was pointless ✌ REMEMBER "practice makes perfect" 👌

  • I think the one piece of advice that I think got looked over, but more a for people that are already into a game but are trying to improve, is to identify your big weaknesses and figure out a way to eliminate them. Being humble enough to recognize where you're not doing the best is important to growing in any given game!

  • My experience with fighters goes like this Buy Smash ultimate Learn the movement Learn general tech Pick Roy as my main Sink hundreds upon hundreds of hours into learning the character, his combos, his punishes, his strengths and flaws all while playing with friends who are much better than me so they can give me advice and help improve my game. Study games where Roy is used to see what goes right and what goes wrong. Study most other characters to figure out their weaknesses. After all this I go to a tournament and get 0-4 Can't pass 100k gsp. That's why I gave up on fighting games. From my experience and studying I can conclude that I literally do not have the capacity to be good at the genre.

  • One of the things that turns me off fighting games is when super moves are way too long and have these fancy cinematics. They slow down the fight. It's like playing a survival horror game, then tripping on a rock or a random obstacle and having to wait 5 to 7 seconds for it to stand back up, all while you have a zombie on top of you that could end up killing you.

  • 22:22 This is completely correct. Don't start out a game playing the coolest looking character. More often than not, they're the more complex ones, and can put you off the game. Not a fighting game, but when I played overwatch for the first time, I immediately jumped on Genji because I thought cyborg ninja dude was cool. He almost put me off the game completely because I thought he was too difficult. Start the game as the basic, well rounded jack of all trades. Goku, Ryu, Liu Kang, Mario whatever. Figure out their basics, learn some of the terminology, then see if you want to try your hand at the more difficult characters like Beerus or Kolin

I just picked up SFV, and I'm having a lot of fun learning the trials; although it can be really really challenging at times... I think I'm starting to love fighting games more and more. It might eventually be my most favourite genre of game, overtaking mobas. Playing Akuma makes me feel powerful

I’ve had the game since it’s released, but only played it at a surface and story level, because I like stories and character development. I’ve recently played the way Cosmo recommended, and watched a couple of tournaments. Now I’ve been getting a better idea in what to do, and why people enjoy it.

  • I feel like most people who don't like sports haven't actually given them a real chance. I enjoy both sports and video games now but before I only liked video games and wasn't into competitive sports. I enjoyed playing basketball in my free time put I thought watching other people play was boring. Then I got invested in the Portland Trail Blazers, and now I enjoy watching their games every week. Once you learn the players on a team and their personalities, there's no turning back. The games you watch will actually be exciting because you gets to see your favorite players doing what they are best known for. When you watch Dame Lillard enter Dame time, you feel it. If anyone has any interest in any sport at all, get invested in your home team and enjoy the ride.

  • I love the feeling of overcoming challenges and beating the odds. Especially the second one. I always like to pick fights with people that are way better than me. Not to be full of shit or ego boost or whatever petty shit, I don't go like that. I do it because when I win, it's the best feeling in the world. I beat someone that I shouldn't beat. I'm David who killed Goliath. I got so into my focus and played so well that I went above and beyond my ability and pulled it off. That's what I love. It's not about just beating other people, it's about beating myself and my limitations and mistakes to pull off something great. I hate beating up on less skilled or experienced players. It does nothing for me. I like to be the underdog and I like to push through those hard walls. When I slay giants, that's the shit that excites me the most in these games.

    Pieter LindequePieter LindequeTháng trước
  • I think you forgot to take patience into consideration. I don't have the patience to learn all those super complicated combos and shit. And they don't even always come out when I make them because I either had a slight delay or pressed a little bit too early, or didn't move the stick enough or because I didn't have enough fingers to press 11 buttons at once or because I didn't spin the controller 360° in the air while doing three backflips and landing on one foot, but I spun it just 359° instead. Screw all that.

  • the problem with fighting games is that they all transitioned in 3D and now they have a totally different feel then the 2D old fighting games. The last 2D game was the king of fighters XIII that looks amazing, perfect for my taste. Since then nothing 2D arrived, and I don't think it will ever arrive. Everybody moved to 3D and I can't digest it. Wouldn't it be perfect to see a Samurai Shodown with a nice pushed to the limit 2D graphic like KingOfFightersXIII? Samurai shodown jumped from bad looking 2D straight to 3D, no good looking 2D one seen the light of the day, and that's bad cuz Samurai Shodown is an amazing game.

    • @Lanky One well no fucking duh. But let me ask you why you're using examples of 2 extremes on opposite ends of the spectrum? Here's an example, grab 2 Joe shmoes. Give one a fully automatic weapon. And the other a hand gun. Sure the handgun guy could win. But the fully auto guy has the clear advantage no matter what you fucking say. I'm not comparing 2 total rookies that have absolutely no idea how to aim and reload. And I'm not comparing some "Quickest in The West" hand gun use vs some nobody fully auto use either. Or even some fully auto user that has been deployed in combat for his 11th time in the marine corp. Just 2 average people that understand how their given weapon works. The fully auto has the advantage. Even if the handgun guy wins

      SonicSonicTháng trước
    • @Sonic Bottom level players won't know how to use tools that make them top tier. Sure it might help if two average people go at it at the exact same skill level, but if you're bad, you'll get smacked by someone who's good. Doesn't matter if you're bad with a top tier or bad with a bottom tier, you're still bad. Only exception is like, game breaking broken like that one jojo game.

      Lanky OneLanky OneTháng trước
    • @Lanky One tier lists are a great representation (most of the time) of which characters require less skill to use. And if anything, is more noticeable when 2 bad players face off. Rather than 2 players who actually know the game. Not that I'm one for tier lists anyway

      SonicSonicTháng trước
